We enjoyed some exceptional meals while out in Minnesota. There are lots of interesting eateries in the Twin Cities. And they are all locally owned and operated, nary a franchise restaurant to be found anywhere. But I did notice one particular occurrance, however. In almost all of the places where we enjoyed a good meal the menu was on a blackboard placed prominently overhead near the front door. Personal menus were the exception and not the rule. Here are a few samples of my observation:
